'Hope' - Our Lady of Knock

The docudrama “Hope” looks at how Knock, a small Irish village in county Mayo has become a place that is visited by over a million pilgrims a year, where life changed for most of the inhabitants either directly or indirectly due to what happened on that rainy night in August of 1879. The docudrama tells the story of what life was like in Ireland at that time, the hardships and suffering the Irish people were going through since the great famine of 1845 when about one million people died and a million more emigrated.

Bravery Under Fire

Dressed in combat boots and a white collar, a man steps up to a recruitment office and signs on to be a military chaplain for the British Army. Today, Fr. William Doyle’s calling to serve God has also called him to serve his country and the brave men and women defending it. His acts of compassion while living, and courage in the face of death would go on to inspire thousands to call for his canonization and tell of his BRAVERY UNDER FIRE in this EWTN Original Docudrama.

Two Chapels

In September, Archbishop Eamon Martin honored St. Maximilian Kolbe, when he presided at an event in Warrenpoint, County Down. The commemoration began with Mass in St. Peter’s Church followed by the unveiling of a Plaque in the peace garden. The archbishop then led a beautiful procession (with the Relic) to an Hotel nearby where EWTN showed our new film on St. Kolbe entitled “Two Chapels”.

This is short 20- minute documentary about St. Kolbe’s life and was directed by Krzysztof Kunert, from EWTN Poland.

If you would like to watch this short film, then you can do so on YouTube. On your iPad or computer, type “EWTN Ireland YouTube” and then you will then see the “Two Chapels” Video.

Become a Media Missionary

Since its founding, the Network’s mission has been to spread the Eternal Word, and to teach others that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Media Missionary volunteers respond to that mission by sharing the message of the Gospel through EWTN.
